2006, July 5 - Carbon Monoxide Detection System Installation.
PyroSignal & Suppression Inc. was contracted by Eger Health Care to design and file with the
NYC Building and Fire Department a Carbon Monoxide Detection System, whose design was in accordance
with Local Law No. 7, Chapter 28, of the City of New York. Along with the Nursing Home Guidelines
Committee, Construction Standards Advisory Group (CSGA) letter of December 8, 2004.
We laid out the system, based upon the requirements of the agencies indicated above.
Upon the approval of the drawings by the NYC Department of Buildings, and the NYC Fire Department,
the CO System was installed with sensor detectors located around the perimeters of the Fossil Fuel
exhaust shaft of the building on each floor, the Laundry Room, and the Ground Floor
lobby and corridors leading to the Loading Dock.
We furnished a stand-alone Siemens MXL-IQ Panel, which was connected to addressable monitoring modules
for Alarm and Trouble sensing of each Carbon Monoxide detector. A supervised auxiliary Power Supply
provided power to the MEA approved Carbon Monoxide detectors. A Central Station Agency was monitoring
Alarms and Troubles from the Control Panel. Local audible alarm horns were located at the main lobby
reception desk and at the Panel. The System installation was completed, and the NYC Fire Department
performed an inspection of the designed, furnished and installed equipment, which received their approval,
the first of it's kind in New York City.
